TRADITIONAL TSWANA WEDDING CLOTHING ATTIRES

TRADITIONAL TSWANA WEDDING CLOTHING ATTIRES

As we all know traditional Tswana clothing, the newly married women of the Tswana that we know as makoti are recognized by their traditional clothing called makoti. These dresses are made of shweshwe fabrics and stitched into skirts and blouses.

Interestingly, this traditional beautiful  fabric is not only used by the cultured Tswana people (also known as Batswana) but is also commonly used in traditional South African clothing. The twill fabric was dyed indigo initially, but now, it has many color variants and various print designs.
